Dear NDA Parents,
We want to provide you with an update following this week’s severe storms and power outage.
Unfortunately, NDA remains without power and our campus is still closed. We are hopeful that power will be restored later today so that we can welcome our freshmen and new students to campus for Orientation tomorrow.
Freshman and new student families: Please check your email first thing tomorrow morning before coming to campus. We will communicate with you as soon as we know whether Orientation can take place as planned.
Because of the continued power outage, tonight’s Parent Welcome Back Night and Freshman Gift Gathering have been canceled. We are very sorry that we cannot be together tonight, but even if power is restored later today, we will not have enough time to cool the building and properly prepare campus for the evening.
Parent Welcome Back Night will not be rescheduled. Instead, Principal Lisa Timmerding will share a brief video with parents covering the important information you need to know as we prepare to begin school on Tuesday. Please keep an eye on your email for that information.
For our freshman parents, the Freshman Gift Gathering will be rescheduled. Please watch upcoming editions of the Panda Press Weekly for details.
We know this has been an unusual way to begin a new school year, and we are truly sorry for the inconvenience and uncertainty these circumstances have caused. Thank you for your patience, flexibility and understanding as we work through a situation that is unfortunately beyond our control.
We are very much looking forward to having our Pandas back on campus next Tuesday and beginning the 2026–27 school year together!
