NDA welcomes five educators to our team this school year
We’re thrilled to welcome a group of talented new teachers to Notre Dame Academy for the 2025-26 school year. Each of these educators brings a wealth of experience, passion for their subject area, and a strong commitment to empowering young women through faith-filled, innovative education. Please join us in welcoming the newest members of our NDA faculty family:
Eva Jones — Spanish
Hola! My name is Eva Jones and I am SO excited to be joining the Notre Dame Academy community as a high school Spanish teacher. I am originally from Nashville, Tennessee and relocated to the Cincinnati area in July. I have my Bachelor’s degree in Spanish and Education and a Master’s degree in Hispanic Studies. I have taught students of all ages (most recently at the college level!) and look forward to bringing this experience to NDA!
I was drawn to Notre Dame Academy because the community reminds me of my own high school. I gained so much knowledge from my teachers there, so I am hoping to have the same impact on the lives of the girls here through my role.
Outside of the classroom, I am always listening to music or reading a good book with my cat, Puffy, beside me. I also enjoy playing golf. Find me inside the classroom this fall teaching Spanish 1 and 2 as well as Dual Credit and AP Spanish Literature. ¡Hasta pronto, Pandas!
Abigail Brueggemeyer — History
Hello there!
My name is Abigail Brueggemeyer, and I’m thrilled to be joining Notre Dame Academy as a teacher in the History Department.
I’m originally from the west side of Cincinnati and hold two bachelor’s degrees—one in History and one in Anthropology—with a minor in Native American Studies from Northern Kentucky University. Before earning my master’s degree in Public History, I worked as an archaeologist with several cultural resource management firms. While I loved the adventure, I transitioned into museum education for a more grounded lifestyle, eventually working as the tour manager at the Holocaust and Humanity Center. It was there, collaborating with teachers and coaches, that I rediscovered my old dream of teaching—channeling a bit of that Indiana Jones spirit into the classroom. After completing my graduate work in Public History, I pursued a career in education, and in my first year of teaching, I completely fell in love with the experience of inspiring young minds.
What drew me to NDA was its mission to empower and inspire young women to make a difference in the world. I’m honored to support that mission and help students not only reach their goals but also embrace their wonderfully unique selves. In my classroom, I strive to make history feel alive and relevant through interactive lessons and meaningful activities.
Outside of teaching, I enjoy a variety of hobbies—playing video games, reading, drawing, and exploring parks, just to name a few.
Laura Schneider — Math Intervention Specialist
Hello! My name is Laura Schneider and I’m excited to be joining the Notre Dame Academy faculty as a math intervention specialist. I am a NDA alumna and earned my degree in Mathematics and Secondary Education from Northern Kentucky University.
In the past, I’ve taught at Ludlow High School, Newport Central Catholic High School and most recently at the middle school level at St. Joseph School in Crescent Springs. In each of these roles I’ve learned a lot about myself and about the many learning styles different students have.
Math has always been my favorite subject but it hasn’t always come easy to me. I’m looking forward to helping students find confidence in their math abilities and success in their math classes.
My happiest moments are those spent with my husband and three children. We enjoy playing board games, spending time outside and vacations where we can hike and explore new areas.
Angela Lucarelli — French
Hi, my name is Angela Lucarelli and I am a Kentucky native. I grew up in Fort Mitchell and attended St. Pius, Blessed Sacrament and attended and graduated from NDA in 1998.
I attended Northern Kentucky University and majored in French and international studies. I lived and attended University in Montpellier, France for my last semester of undergraduate studies.
I taught French at Beechwood High School for six years and then stayed home for 15 years to raise my two children. I have also taught French to adults at the French Alliance of Cincinnati.
I’m so excited to be teaching French levels one through four as well as Advanced Placement French at Notre Dame Academy.
Notre Dame Academy is a very special place and I have such good memories. I am still close with my friends from Notre Dame, and this is where I learned to love French and why I became a teacher. I ran both cross country and track at Notre Dame as well and I’m so happy that my daughter, Mila, will be attending NDA and is running cross country! I’m honored to have the opportunity to pass on my love for both Notre Dame and French to future generations.
I live in Fort Mitchell with my husband and two children, George and Mila and our dog Daisy. My mom is from Italy, so I love all things Italian and French! I love cooking, coffee, and spending time with my family and friends!
Mary Beth Bement — English
Hello everyone! I’m excited to introduce myself and share a little bit about what brought me to Notre Dame Academy.
My name is Mary Bement, and I come to Notre Dame Academy with a strong educational background and a love for literature. I hold a bachelor’s degree in English and a Master of Arts in Teaching. I’m also a Kentucky-certified teacher, licensed in both English and as a Classroom Reading Specialist.
What drew me to Notre Dame Academy was its outstanding reputation for excellence and its inspiring belief in the potential of young women. It is an honor to be part of a community that empowers students with a strong faith foundation, along with the skills they need to achieve their goals.
When I’m not in the classroom, I’m a busy mom to three wonderful children. In my free time, you can often find me with my nose in a book, working on my writing, exploring the outdoors on a hike, or simply enjoying quality time with my family.
I’m looking forward to a fantastic school year and getting to know all of you!
We are grateful for the gifts each of these educators brings to our school and look forward to the many ways they will impact our students this year.
