Spanish students volunteer at BeCon over Christmas Break

Twenty Spanish students from all four grade levels participated in Christmas giving to Latino families in the area by volunteering at Be Concerned on Wednesday, December 22.  They gave up their first afternoon of Christmas vacation to give food items to needy families.  The students enjoyed speaking with the families as they handed them their cart of food items.  They laughed with each other about what they should have remembered and how they successfully communicated.  They want to serve again as the experience was rewarding and educating.  Those who are planning to go on the Dominican Republic mission trip had a special advantage because they have begun to practice speaking with native speakers from different areas and hopefully have gained confidence and experience for this summer.

Feliz Navidad!
