On March 24, your daughter will be taking part in a one day Mission Retreat. This retreat will be held at St. Joseph Height’s from 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. and is required. The purpose of this day is to reflect on the many ways they are called to carry the Mission of Notre Dame Academy out into their everyday lives, particularly once they graduate in May! We explore the Charism of the Sisters of Notre Dame as well as the charism of the seniors. We will reflect on the SND Educational Principles and hear from Alumnae who have incorporated those principles into their daily lives. The day will include personal reflection and a special blessing from the sisters.
One of the activities we would like to include on this Day of Reflection is for our students to receive a letter from their parent(s). The purpose of this letter is to point out ways that your daughter has been living the mission of NDA already in her life and where you see her strengths as she moves forward. This letter is an opportunity to show how she has grown as a young woman over the past four years. These letters will be read only by your daughter during the private reflection time (they will all be in the same room, however). The letters are meant to be uplifting and to encourage your daughter to continue living the mission of NDA as she prepares for graduation and life beyond NDA’s walls.
These letters should be returned to NDA by March 5, 2020. They can be turned into the front office with your daughter’s first and last name on it and “Parent Letter” below her name. We are only accepting parent letters (please do not include any gifts or letters from other family members).
We thank you for your cooperation in planning for this Senior Mission Retreat Day.
