NDA senior Ellen Kendall has been chosen as a state winner in the 2014-15 National Honor Society Scholarship Program. As a state winner, Ellen will receive a scholarship award totaling $1,500.
The National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP), parent organization of the National Honor Society (NHS), has awarded more than $11 million in scholarships to outstanding NHS members since 1946. This year, 200 state finalists were chosen from nearly 6,800 applicants. Each of those finalists will receive a $1,000 scholarship to continue his or her education. From the 200 finalists, 53 state winners were chosen to receive an additional $500 scholarship award.
