NDA Students Selected for KY Governor’s Schools Programs

Notre Dame Academy is proud to announce that 18 NDA students have been selected for the Kentucky Governor’s Schools Programs. The Kentucky Governor’s Scholars Program (GSP) recently announced that five Notre Dame Academy students have been named Governor’s Scholars for 2014. Additionally, The Kentucky Center Governor’s School for the Arts (GSA) announced that five students from Notre Dame Academy have been accepted into the Kentucky Governor’s School for the Arts 2014 program and one student from Notre Dame Academy has been accepted into the Governor’s School for Entrepreneurs (GSE). A total of seven NDA students were also selected as alternates in the three programs.

Notre Dame Academy juniors Hillary Hellmann, Ellen Kendall, Madeline Marita, Rachel Peavler and Hannah Ziegelmeyer have all been selected to participate in the 2014 Governor’s Scholars Program. Maria Topmiller has been selected as an alternate. 

Notre Dame Academy’s Gina Erardi (Visual Art), Annalise Stegman (Visual Art), Samantha Conradi (Dance), Jamie Henn (Dance) and Marissa Picciuto (New Media)  have all been selected to participate in the 2014 Governor’s School for the Arts program. Haley Appelmann, Lauren Darpel, Hannah Deters, Hope Thelen and Natalie Bellamy have all been selected as alternates in Visual Art. 

Notre Dame Academy junior Katie Kloska has been selected to participate in the 2014 Governor’s School for Entrepreneurs. Riley Meyerratken was selected as an alternate.

The Governor’s Scholars Program is a six-week summer residential program that recognizes exceptional high school students in Kentucky. The program strives to enhance Kentucky’s next generation of civic and economic leaders.  GSP provides academic and personal growth through the balance of a strong liberal arts program with a full co-curricular and residential life experience. 

The Governor’s School for the Arts program is an intense three-week summer residential program for Kentucky’s finest young artists held on the campus of Transylvania University in Lexington. The students will have the opportunity to live in a supportive learning environment and study with a group of distinguished teaching artists while participating in the program.

The Governor’s School for Entrepreneurs is a three-week innovative and entrepreneurial experience for teens. GSE gives Kentucky’s young aspiring entrepreneurs a hands-on, experiential immersion into innovation and entrepreneurship in order to empower them to make a positive impact on their communities through innovation and to become business leaders of tomorrow. 

The Governor’s School for Entrepreneurs (GSE) is a college and career ready program giving Kentucky high school students a hands-on, experiential immersion into innovation and entrepreneurship in order to empower them to make a positive impact on their communities through innovation and to become business leaders of tomorrow.

GSE exposes young aspiring entrepreneurs to the mindset, culture, innovative thinking and skills necessary to start a company.
