For Immediate Release:
March 14, 2014
The Notre Dame Academy Board of Directors has announced that as of June 30, 2014, Sister Mary Lynette Shelton, SND will leave the position of President of Notre Dame Academy. The Board is grateful for the service Sister Mary Lynette has provided during the past three years in her role as President.
In 2006, the school began the president/principal model of leadership and the Board will begin a search process for a new president.
In 2011, I was asked to make a three-year commitment to serve as President of Notre Dame Academy. The privilege to serve the community of Notre Dame Academy has been both a joy and a blessing however, I feel that it is time for me to move on. After a great deal of prayer and reflection, I informed Notre Dame Academy’s Board of Directors in January that I would not be extending my ministry at NDA. While I am not certain what lies ahead for me, I am confident that the future of Notre Dame Academy is secure. I truly believe that this is a good time for change of leadership at the school. I will continue to focus on my obligations as President of Notre Dame Academy through the end of this school year. Beyond that I will put my life in God’s hands confident that He will lead me to the place I am most needed.
