Notre Dame Academy Names George Stoll as New Varsity Basketball Coach

Notre Dame Academy is proud to announce the appointment of George Stoll as the new head coach of the varsity basketball program. A respected figure in the Northern Kentucky basketball community, Stoll brings a winning record, a deep commitment to player development, and a strong connection to the region.

“George Stoll is a tremendous addition to our athletics program,” said NDA Athletic Director Janet Carl. “His coaching experience, character, and leadership align beautifully with the mission of Notre Dame Academy. We are excited to welcome George and his family into our Panda community.”

A Northern Kentucky native, Stoll resides in Independence with his wife and four children. He made his mark early in his coaching career at Newport Central Catholic, where he led the Thoroughbreds to a 112-74 record over six seasons. His tenure included one 9th Region Championship, three 9th Region All “A” Classic titles, and a trip to the finals of the state’s small-school tournament. He was named Greater Cincinnati Coach of the Year following the 2013–14 season when his team posted an impressive 29–5 record. In 2016, Stoll was named the 9th Region Coach of the Year.

Stoll has also served as an assistant coach at Thomas More University and coached high school athletes through elite AAU programs including Kentucky Fusion and Kentucky Premier. He is the co-founder of Next Play Academy, which focuses on mental toughness, leadership, and life skills for student-athletes.

“Notre Dame Academy has a tradition of excellence in girls basketball,” Stoll said. “I’m honored to have the opportunity to build on that success and to help our student-athletes grow both on and off the court. I believe in preparing players not just for competition, but for life.”

Notre Dame Academy’s varsity basketball team returns a solid group of experienced players this season, creating a strong foundation for continued growth and success. With Coach Stoll’s steady leadership and the team’s shared commitment, the Pandas are well-positioned for a season of meaningful progress and competitive play.

With Stoll at the helm, Notre Dame Academy looks forward to the next exciting chapter in Panda basketball.
