NDA Students Selected for KY Governor’s Scholars Program, KY Governor’s School for the Arts and KY Governor’s School for Entrepreneurs

Notre Dame Academy is proud to announce that an overwhelming number of NDA students were selected this year to participate in the Kentucky Governor’s Schools Programs. A total of fourteen NDA students have been chosen for these select summer programs. The Kentucky Governor’s Scholars Program (GSP) recently announced that six Notre Dame Academy students have been named Governor’s Scholars for 2016. Additionally, The Kentucky Center Governor’s School for the Arts (GSA) announced that seven students from Notre Dame Academy have been accepted into the Kentucky Governor’s School for the Arts 2016 program and one student from Notre Dame Academy has been accepted into the 2016 Governor’s School for Entrepreneurs (GSE). A total of five NDA students were also selected as GSA alternates.

Notre Dame Academy juniors Sarah Draud, Emma Duerstock, Paige Montfort, Jackie Noll, Lauren Reinersman and Meg Whelen have all been selected to participate in the 2016 Governor’s Scholars Program. 

Notre Dame Academy’s Emma Wainscott, Fiona Blackburn, Abbie Guard, Courtney Ziegelmeyer, Johanna Armstrong, Paige Brunson and Izzy Pope have been selected to participate in the 2016 Governor’s School for the Arts program. Annie Lee, Andria Burden, Kendall Crawford, Laura Dinn and Anne Simendinger have all been selected as alternates. 

Notre Dame Academy’s Olivia Marita has been selected to participate in the 2016 Governor’s School for Entrepreneurs. 

The Governor’s Scholars Program is a six-week summer residential program that recognizes exceptional high school students in Kentucky. The program strives to enhance Kentucky’s next generation of civic and economic leaders.  GSP provides academic and personal growth through the balance of a strong liberal arts program with a full co-curricular and residential life experience. 

The Governor’s School for the Arts program is an intense three-week summer residential program for Kentucky’s finest young artists held on the campus of Transylvania University in Lexington. The students will have the opportunity to live in a supportive learning environment and study with a group of distinguished teaching artists while participating in the program.

The Governor’s School for Entrepreneurs is a three-week innovative and entrepreneurial experience for teens. GSE gives Kentucky’s young aspiring entrepreneurs a hands-on, experiential immersion into innovation and entrepreneurship in order to empower them to make a positive impact on their communities through innovation and to become business leaders of tomorrow.
