2013-14 Theatrical Season Announced

Attention all Drama Pandas and Colonels! The Notre Dame Academy/Covington Catholic High School Theatre group is thrilled to announce the 2013-14 theatrical performance season. The program for this season offers a variety of venues to please all, including a scary Halloween classic, a heart-warming holiday show, a “nostalgic” showcase review and an “thoroughly modern” musical.

The fall production of “The Legend of Sleepy Hallow”, presents an original adaptation of the classic tale of Icabod Crane and his fateful run-in with the Headless Horseman. Production dates are October 18 and 19 at 7:00 p.m. and October 20 at 2:00 p.m.

Children and adults of all ages will delight in our Christmas Children’s Theatre production of “The Only Christmas Pageant in Town”, a sweet yet funny story filled with memorable characters who combine to teach a gentle lesson – that Christmas is not found in the flash and glitter of modern day, but in the true gift of that holy night given so long ago. After the show, audience members will be invited to share hot cocoa and cookies with Santa and the cast. Production dates are Saturday, December 14 at 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. and Sunday, December 15 at 1:00 p.m.

Join the students of NDA and CCH as they relive the 1960s with a fast-paced and lively celebration of songs, dance and comedy skits. From Motown to the Beatles, we will remember the 60s with fun, poignancy and all the kitsch you can stand. Production dates are January 31 and February 1 at 7:00 p.m. and February 2 at 2:00 p.m.

The spring musical production brings the tale of Millie Dumount, a newcomer to the big city of New York during the Flapper rage of the 1920s in  “Thoroughly Modern Millie”. She has big plans for life, but Jimmy Smith throws her plans into disarray, forcing her to re-examine what she really wants out of life. Production dates are April 4 and 5 at 7:00 p.m. and April 6 at 2:00 p.m.

Season tickets are now on sale by calling the school office at 859-292-1863 to request a brochure.
