NDA Students Named National Merit Commended Students

Notre Dame Academy Principal Mr. Jack VonHandorf announced that four NDA seniors have been recognized by the National Merit Scholarship Program as Commended Students. Congratulations to Emma Duerstock, Julia James, Julia Mathew and Jo Meyer-Hogan who were all named National Merit Commended Students.

About 34,000 Commended Students throughout the nation are being recognized for their exceptional academic promise.  Although they will not continue in the 2017 competition for National Merit Scholarship awards, Commended Students placed among the top five percent of more than 1.6 million students who entered the 2017 competition by taking the 2015 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT).

“We strive to provide our students with an exemplary education at Notre Dame Academy,” said Mr. VonHandorf. “We see the fruits of our labor this week in the success of our Commended Students in the National Merit Program. We congratulate these seniors on their commitment to academic excellence.”
