Students taking College chemistry please stop by room 210 today to receive your summer assignment.

After our final exams, students are expected to stay until 11:20 or 11:50 when students will be dismissed.

Juniors will have a grade level meeting on the spanish stairs tomorrow during homeroom. They will go right from first period to the spanish stairs.

Any underclass woman who has been invited to Academic Awards and has not yet submitted their RSVP google form from the invitation link, needs to respond immediately after school today.

Students attending the academic awards on Thursday, there will be a practice on Wednesday at 8:00am in the gym.

Don't forget to sign up for the Senior Awards breakfast on May 24th at Receptions. The link to sign up is on the senior page of the website.

Underclass women please check your email to see if you have received an invitation (RSVP) for the academic awards. If you are invited to the academic awards there is a practice Wednesday morning at 8:00 in the gym. 

The "blue gown girls" in the graduation ceremony should pick up their gown this Tuesday after school in room 101. This should only take a few minutes.

Uganda Pandas will have their final meeting of the year Wednesday afternoon in room 112.

The spring choral and dance concert is Tuesday, May 14, at 6:30PM in the theatre; free admission. Come support your dance pandas and panda tones!


Fr. Hennigen will be here for mass after school today in the chapel. Mass should be finished by 3:40. All are welcome to join us!

The seniors will have a brief meeting tomorrow afternoon in Alumnae Hall while the other grades are doing HR Rep elections.

AP testing will still be going on this afternoon. Please exit the building quietly.

Sister Paul Ann thanks everyone for a successful dress down day. We made $1,150 for the Sisters’ 4th of July raffle.

Reminder tomorrow Freshmen will go to the play. Be sure to report to the theater by 7:45.

Tomorrow is also a pep rally for Spring Sports. There was an adjusted scheduled emailed to everyone on Monday.

Tomorrow we will have an adjusted schedule with school dismissing at 12:30. Everyone will eat lunch together, so don't forget to pack your lunch. Hot lunch will not be served. The weather is looking good, so students are encouraged to eat outside and in the cafeteria. Tomorrow we will begin AP testing and please note that Alumnae Hall and Heritage Hall will be off limits throughout the day. Quiet in that part of the building is very important to our test takers. Check your emails for this schedule and the other adjusted schedules for this week.

Juniors have a grade level meeting at 8:15 this Wednesday in the gym. Life Touch will be here to talk about senior photos including the required drape photo.

Wednesday is an out of uniform day in support of the Sisters annual 4th of July festival.

A reminder that school will dismiss at 12:30 next Tuesday. We will have shortened classes followed by a Digital Citizenship Presentation.

Important Announcement for Seniors: Ms. Burgei and Mrs. Schmidt need all seniors to turn in their Senior Info Sheets and Copies of Acceptances or Scholarships. They need these as soon as possible.

Don't forget the voter registration drive this week! Stop by the table at lunch tomorrow and Friday to register to vote. It is quick and easy to register and takes less than 5 minutes. The only requirements are to be 18 before November 15, 2019 and you will need your social security number. Please stop by our table and make a difference in our world with your vote!

Mrs. Gray from the Notre Dame Urban Education Center will be here after school on Wednesday and Thursday this week to sign up volunteers for their summer session. All are welcome to stop by and see learn more about what is needed.

There are lots of items in the office’s lost and found from the play this past weekend. If you are missing anything please check the lost and found cart.

Just a reminder that the annual charity volleyball game versus CCH is scheduled for Thursday, May 2 at 7:00pm. All proceeds will be given to the Emergency Cold Shelter. The theme for the game is Corporate (CCH) versus Country (NDA) as agreed upon by student leaders at both NDA and CCH. Tickets will be sold after the Easter break and before the game. Start planning your outfits over the Easter break and remember dress code expectations do apply!

There will be a club leader meeting May 1st right after school in Alumnae Hall.


Attention students taking AP tests - money is due on Monday April 15th for your AP tests. There is a bin in the counselor's quad where you can drop your money off. If you are unsure of how much you owe or if you've already paid, please email Mrs. Maggard.

A reminder to all juniors that your retreat registration form is due tomorrow to Mrs. Price's office.

Seniors who would like to be considered for Crowning Mary at our May Crowning Mass in May - your reflections are due to Mrs. Price's office by the end of the day tomorrow.

Anyone interested in helping to lead the Way of the Cross for Justice on Good Friday in Washington Park - please email Mrs. Price. The time commitment is from 11:30-2:00 on Friday, April 19 and it does count for service hours.

Congrats to our stellar seniors who defeated St. Ursula yesterday in the orange and white game. The final score was NDA 35 and SUA 14. The team is invited to have some cake during the lunches today so please stop by the celebrate. Many thanks to Coach Strickley and Coach Shroyer for leading the team to a win. We will be selling extra orange and white t-shirts for just $5 during the lunches.

Congratulations to our Science Research Pandas who competed at the State Science Fair this weekend at Eastern Kentucky University. A special congratulations to Molly Kleier for placing 2nd in Chemistry at the state science fair.

Thanks to all of you who contributed to this year's quilt raffle. Today we will draw the winners of the people who get to walk away with one of the 3 button sewing quilts from this year's common reader day. Funds raised through the raffle as well as the Out of Uniform Day last week will be donated to Josephine's Clinic in Cincinnati who supports local people impacted by human trafficking and violence. Just under $1200 will be donated to Josephine's Clinic.


Essays for the Drug Free Essay Contest are due to Mrs. Hildreth or Mrs. Maggard by midnight on Friday April 5th, with no late entries accepted. - This is 7 Days away!! Directions for the essay contest were mailed to every club member's home, and are also available in the Quad and the main school office. The Top Award is $2,000. Three Runners-up will receive $1,000, and 6 Finalists will receive $500.

Get excited Pandas! We are holding a food truck day on Thursday, May 2. Check your email for menu options. Student Council will start collecting orders in homeroom on Monday.

Attention sisters of graduating seniors. Tomorrow is the last day to hand in your permission form to participate in the graduation ceremonies as a blue gown girl. Please turn in your blue form to the office

All students are reminded to fill out the career fair breakout session survey that was sent out earlier this week. Responses will help determine assignments for the breakout sessions. Next Thursday will be a completely adjusted schedule with no classes, and school will dismiss at 11:00 next Thursday so the faculty and staff can attend the annual Women Making a Difference Luncheon.

Tomorrow during long homeroom, SR and JR will attend a prom information session in the auditorium while FR will report to the Theatre for Mass. These grades should report to their locations immediately after 1st period. SO will report to homeroom.

Tomorrow is Super Wednesday and each grade has received information regarding their assignments for tomorrow. Seniors are packing their lunches as they will be at their Mission Retreat while all other students will be able to purchase lunch in the cafeteria. Everyone will dismiss at 2:00 tomorrow afternoon, so plan accordingly.

Seniors - A few reminders about the Mission retreat tomorrow. You need to arrive at the Meeting room of the Heights' between 8:45 and 9:00 am. We want to begin promptly at 9:00. Please do not forget to bring a lunch and drink with you as you will not have access to the cafeteria at all tomorrow. You are permitted to dress down as long as you follow dress down policy as stated in the handbook. Please bring a pen with you. NO ipads are allowed. All this information was sent to you last week in an email from Mrs. Price. Please review that email as well as the small group list sent out this morning. You will be dismissed at 2:00 tomorrow.

The National Catholic Youth Conference is an exciting 3 day experience of prayer, community and faith for Catholic Teenagers. NCYC takes place this November 21-23 in Indianapolis, IN. If you are interested in finding out more about this event that gathers more than 25,000 youth nationwide - plan on staying for an information session right after school tomorrow in room 112 or see Mrs. Price.

Commonwealth Honors Academy (CHA) is an exciting, challenging academic and personal growth program from June 8-29th on the campus of Murray State University for outstanding junior students with a 3.5 GPA and 25 ACT Score. Students earn 6 hours of university credit, with opportunities for more! Cost if accepted is only a $195 tuition processing fee. Senior Panda Morgan Briede, who attended CHA last summer, will be available to describe her awesome experience with Commonwealth Honors Academy, and answer questions at an Info Session on Thursday Feb. 14 from 3:15-3:30pm in Alumnae Hall. Applications, including a teacher recommendation, are due March 1st.

Anyone wanting to be considered for the 2019 NDA tennis teams, must be at the mandatory tryout this Sunday night February 17th at Five Seasons Sports Club at 5:15pm

TODAY is the last day to apply for the EMPOWER KENTUCKY YOUTH CONFERENCE, which will be held Friday June 7-Monday June 10 at Western KY University. This conference will focus on PREVENTION of substance abuse, sexual violence, and suicide. It is FREE, including transportation, lodging, and meals, and is open to current Freshmen, Sophomores, and Juniors. GSE will be hosted next summer at Northern Kentucky University from June 23-July 13.

For those of you planning to attend the dance tomorrow evening, Notre Dame will not cancel the event nor can refunds be given based on the weather's outcome. The venue, Receptions has confirmed the dance will go on, and the parking lot will be plowed and salted should Mother Nature bring a lot of snow tomorrow. Your attendance at the dance will be left to your discretion. As always, we hope you have fun, safe evening!

Next week we have exams taking place on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Last night there was a misprint in the Panda Press, so please remember that Monday we will have regular classes and not exams.

Tomorrow is an out of uniform day for $3. Proceeds will benefit the following clubs' service projects: LIFE, Girl Up, Art and Peer Ministry.

Exams begin next week, so please make sure to complete your schedule -- Mrs. Monohan emailed the schedule template to you. After exams next Wednesday, students are invited to purchase Kona Ice in the cafeteria or hang out with the therapy dogs in the auditorium.

Students who are applying to GSA, the Governor's School for the ARTS:
The application deadline of JANUARY 11th - next Friday - is rapidly approaching.
EACH Art Form requires TWO Recommendations: one from a TEACHER AND one from an ADMINISTRATOR. Students must provide GSA with the email addresses for EACH Recommender. You also need to let each Recommender to which Art Form you are applying, and you must give each Recommender a resume and enough time in order for them to provide you a really good recommendation.

Drug Free Club Members:
Everyone should have received your membership card by this time, and can use them for Extra Rewards at local establishments! Contact Mrs. Hildreth if you have not received your card yet.

And congratulations to everyone who was Randomly drug-tested by Drug Free Club today! We are very proud of you! Keep making good choices! We are a little bit behind on our daily rewards, and will make up for that on Monday!

We are having Skyline during Catholic Schools Week. Sales will begin next week, so bring your cash -- items will cost between $.50 and $3.

On Monday, November 26, after school until 4pm in Room 112, NDA will have a representative from the Kentucky Governor's School for Entrepreneurs to explain the 3-week long GSE summer program, and to offer suggestions about how to strengthen your application, to interested 9th, 10th, and 11th graders!
Warren Buffet, currently the 3rd wealthiest person in the world, remembered "reading a study in 2011 that sought to correlate business success with all sorts of variables, ranging from I.Q., to which school one attended. The only thing that mattered, it turned out, was the age at which people started their first businesses." An opportunity in high school to experience a program like The Governor’s School for Entrepreneurs could be invaluable. Applications are open now to current freshmen, sophomores, and juniors until January 20.

Camping Club will be meeting next Tuesday, Oct. 23rd, after school in Room 209.
We will be roasting marshmallows and talking about the first camping trip. We hope to see you there!

Today Georgetown College will be visiting during the lunches. Stop and visit to find out about majors and scholarships. Tomorrow the University of Louisville will be visiting. There are a number of you that have expressed interest so visit with him, also during the lunches.

We are having a mini college fair today. St. Louis University, a Jesuit school, Thomas More College, soon to be an university, and Transylvania University will be here. Visit with these schools for information on scholarships and different majors.

This Friday will be a Super Day with CERT testing for Freshmen and Sophomores, the practice ACT for juniors and seniors will have a college planning/work day. We will celebrate our Grandparents' Day Mass in the afternoon. We will begin our day at 8:45 on Friday, so all can enjoy a delayed start.

Students will need to park in the gardens Friday due to Grandparents mass. But please park in the lower part of the lot


The University of Dayton will be here during the lunches. We have a number of girls that attend UD every year. Visit to find out if this would be a good fit for you.

Thanks to all that submitted artwork to the Xavier University High School Exhibition. Congratulations to: Carenna Bhola, Kenzie Eberhart, Sara Mathew and Zoe Moellering for having their work selected to be a part of the exhibition. Their work will be part of a show that will hang from from November 2nd to November 20th, all are welcome to check it out.

Freshmen who are planning to run for Student Council, please remember that applications are due next Monday by the end of the day.

Sophomores, if you have not already filled out the survey that Mrs. Wagner sent you last week about Silver Bells Themes and helping with the Freshman Breakfast, please fill that out today. It will only take you a minute to do.

Club leaders should mark their calendars for the next leader meeting on Wednesday, October 24. Don't forget to submit completed grant applications by this Friday if your club is interested in obtaining funds to help with service projects.

This Friday is picture day. Just a reminder that everyone must have their picture taken, even if not purchasing them to get their new school id. You may dress out of uniform. Clothing is expected to be tidy and appropriate and that of which provides proper coverage.

Monday's Drug Free Club Testing was a HUGE success! We were not able to test 377 members in one day - 65% of our student body - so we will continue testing on other days.

Today during lunch periods, Sister Paul Ann and Sister Rachel ask that students sign a class pillow for their grade level. The sophomore pillow isn’t ready yet but the others are ready. If you park in parking spots 22 to 67 or the theater, you will need to park at the Gardens this Friday. There will be a bus to shuttle you to school in the morning.

Today, we are hosting Bellarmine University and Midway University. Visit with these reps and get information about their schools and the programs they offer. Bellarmine gives nice scholarships to those that qualify, just for applying.

Monday immediately after school, all previous archery pandas and anyone interested need to go down to the gym to sign up, this does include everyone who already participated as well as new people.

We are looking forward to a great game tonight. Some reminders that appropriate/festive dress is required. Anything too short or revealing would not be acceptable and body paint is not permitted per Thomas More rules. Moderate face paint is okay but no body paint.

Our Governor's Scholars who attended GSP last summer wore their special GSP t-shirts today, and would love to have you ask about their experience at any time! Today we start the college reps visits with a mini fair. A lot of reps are not doing lunch visits because they feel they are not productive. They will do the lunch visit at NDA and some other schools where they feel that they talk to many students.. Please use this time to find out about their schools and scholarships, and make the reps feel welcome. Freshmen and sophomores are encouraged to check out information and find out the grades and test scores needed to get into the schools. Juniors and seniors need to take advantage of the opportunity of having the reps in our building to answer all their questions. Today the University of Alabama will be here. Please make her feel welcome.

There will be a meeting on Thursday, Sept. 20, after school in Alumnae Hall for students interested in applying for the KY Governor's Scholars Program, also known as GSP. This is a free 5-week residential academic program that takes place on a KY university campus for KY students during the summer after their Junior year. This is a fantastic opportunity, so come and learn more! NDA had an unprecedented 10 Juniors attend GSP last summer, and many of them, who are current seniors, will be at this meeting to share what their experience was like, and to offer tips for this application.

The following Thursday, on Sept. 27, there will be an informational meeting about GSA, the Governor's School for the ARTS,which is open to current sophomores and juniors. The Thursday after that, there will be a meeting for those interested in learning more about the KY Governor's School for Entrepreneurs, which is open to juniors, sophomores, AND freshmen! It IS an exciting time to be a student in Kentucky! Contact Mrs. Hildreth with your questions.

Several of you have reported that you are unable to access the Club sign up form that was emailed out to everyone last Friday. Please make sure you are trying to access the form through your NDA email account. If you are still having trouble, contact Mrs. Grayson. The form will close Tuesday afternoon.

Common Reader Day is this Wednesday! We will begin the day at 8:45 and all students will report to their homerooms first on this day. During homeroom, we will hold a discussion session and take a brief assessment on the book -- Invention of Wings. The day will consist of several breakout sessions surrounded around the book's many themes. The schedule and specific assignments have been emailed to all students, so please take a peek at this before Wednesday!

If you would like to cut your hair and donate to a great cause, don't forget to turn in the hair cutting permission slip form! These are due this Wednesday!

There will be mentor center in room 112 after school today for anyone needing help with homework.

Homeroom Reps should pass out food truck tickets during homeroom. Consider placing them in your lanyards as you will need the ticket to claim your food tomorrow during the lunches.

Club Orientation is tomorrow afternoon, so we will have an adjusted schedule. Both the Collaborative Learning Center and Auditorium are now open spaces! Cafeteria overflow should stay in the auditorium or outside.
