Swim & Dive Pandas Finish Runner-up at Regionals

Congratulations to the Swim & Dive team for finishing runner-up at Regionals! The divers competed last Wednesday night in Louisville and the swimmers competed last Friday night and Saturday at Silverlake. Although only 14 swimmers and 4 divers competed in Regionals, the Pandas made a strong showing against the larger teams, proving that they were small but unstoppable!

Swimmers Riley Jordan (junior) and Lainy Kruger (freshman) made the All Regional Team. Lainy also won “Outstanding Swimmer of the Meet,” as voted on by all of the teams’ coaches.

Riley Jordan won the 100 backstroke and Lainy Kruger won both the 200 individual medley and the 100 breaststroke. Many other swimmers on the team finished in the top 8 in their individual events, as well as in relays, and were awarded medals at the meet during the awards ceremonies.

The Aqua Pandas will compete at States February 20 and 21 down in Lexington at the University of Kentucky.

Divers finishes:
Chelsea Collins 11th, Corrinne Laws 12th, Sydney Dierig 16th. Both Chelsea and Corrinne will be heading to State February 21.

Outstanding job, ladies!”
