Department Philosophy
The Theology Department of Notre Dame Academy assists young women in the development of their faith: seeing faith as a viable option, choosing faith that is real, and living a Gospel-based faith. Students study Catholic teaching and doctrine and are encouraged to use critical thinking, especially with regards to personal spiritual development and involvement in the world.
Department Learner Goals
Develop an understanding of Salvation History through a comprehensive study of Catholic Doctrine, Scriptures, Church History and Morality
Understanding that Christ's mission and salvation history continues in the divinely instituted Church; guided by the Holy Spirit
Engage in theological reflection and faith sharing
Grow in their awareness and respect for other cultures
